Work You ll DoAssist companies with federal, state and local and international tax compliance, consulting, and align the tax function with business objectives. Assist clients with fundamental tax planning and analysis, work to understand company-specific business and tax issues and identify and mitigate risk areas. Under the supervision of Tax Managers, oversee tax consulting projects for clients in diverse industries. Research and analyze a wide range of tax issues encountered on engagements. Assume tax-planning responsibilities for our federal clients and assist with the supervision of assignments. Assist with tax planning opportunity identification, implementing tax planning projects, providing tax research and analysis for clients in diverse financial services industries, and keeping up-to-date on current tax practices and technical issues. Develop a working knowledge of the client's business and tax systems, take responsibility for clearing open items relating to assigned areas, meeting client deadlines, and contribute to the successful completion of projects. Assist with the supervision of Tax Consultants and escalate issues when necessary. Actively participate in engagement planning and decision-making. #LI-DNI RequirementsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, Business Administration, Economics or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent).Eighteen months of experience providing tax planning services or preparing and reviewing client work papers and tax returns.Experience must include eighteen months of:Preparing and reviewing federal, state and international informational tax forms, including Schedule K-1s, Forms 1065, 1120, 8082, 8621, 8865, 1042, and FinCen 114 for clients in the asset management space;Reviewing tax adjustments related to derivative securities (forwards, futures, options, swaps) and structured products including bonds, loans and asset backed securities;Reviewing taxable income for investment partnerships, including testing of securities for various book to tax adjustments (wash sales, constructive sales, straddles, short sales, IRC Section 988 transactions, IRC Section 1256 transactions, original issue discount, market discount, and qualified dividend analysis);Advising clients with regard to fund structuring (master-feeder, side by side, mini master) and evaluating the impact on investment and tax strategies;Performing complex partnership tax computations, including IRC Section 704(c) computations, basis adjustment computations under IRC Section 743(b) and 734(b), and disguised sale analysis under IRC Section 707;Assisting in training and mentoring new and experienced-level staff;Utilizing tax software and various research tools including Go System, ONESOURCE, Superform, Global fx, LexisNexis, BNA, CCH, and RIA Checkpoint to provide tax compliance and consulting services to clients; andAssisting client with Internal Revenue Service and state tax examination, and responding to Information Document Requests (IDRs) and drafting memos and responses to IDRs and various tax notices.In the alternative, the employer is willing to accept no degree and forty-two months of experience as stated above.
