Job Title:Senior Accountant: Cash & Investments Area: Hermitage Finance-Cash, Receivables & Benefits Accounting Location: Hermitage Career Level: 4 Team Overview:The Cash & Investment (C&I) team is a part of the Cash, Receivables, & Benefits Accounting Department within Finance & Administration (FA). The C&I team is responsible for the timely and accurate posting of all cash transactions, reconciliation of related balance sheet accounts, and processing of certain investment activity and reporting. Our team works collaboratively with: Payroll, Accounts Payable, Cash Application, Partner Accounting, International Accounting, Firm Tax, the Financial Reporting & General Ledger Group, and Functional Controllers. In addition, the team collaborates in the accounting for mergers & acquisitions, and prepares periodic reports related to the US Firms litigation claims. Job Responsibilities:Cash & Investment ProcessingOversee the processing and posting of incoming and outgoing cash on a daily basis for all US Firm cash accounts via the Electronic Bank Statement process. Includes some foreign bank accounts.Identify, analyze and report unusual cash activity and be able to perform in-depth analysis of issues and irregular events. Review and resolve cash-posting exceptions on a timely basis.Process and post investment activity. Balance Sheet ReviewMaintain and monitor balance sheet accounts.Analyze, interpret, and report account activity and balances to ensure accuracy. Other Accounting ProcessesAnalyze transactions, determine appropriate accounting treatment and prepare journal entries related to acquisitions, long-term assets and liabilities, and legal costs.Must be able to provide analysis and recommend options as business needs and process changes occur. Prepare ad-hoc reporting as needed. Business AdvisorCreate and maintain a strong relationship with clients.Prepare a variety of reports for Finance Leadership and Functional Controllers.Assist with establishing guidelines and polices and enforce internal controls to help safeguard the Firms assets.Provide direction and training to internal clients when needed related to our department processes. Qualifications:3-5 years of relevant accounting experienceBachelor s degree in Accounting/Finance requiredKnowledge of Microsoft Excel required including v-lookups, pivot tables, and macrosExperience with databases, PowerPoint, and SAP accounting software preferred Relevant Business Skills:Ability to analyze, problem-solve, and suggest solutions.Candidate should be a self-starter with the ability to take ownership of processes and projects, and create innovative ideas for process improvements while managing multiple priorities.Must be detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality work.Strong written and verbal communication skills are required including the ability to collaborate with people at all levels.
