Work You ll DoProvide actuarial consulting services. Assist in designing and evaluating employee benefit programs for a wide range of clients with an emphasis on pension and post-retirement medical and insurance plans. Work with client service teams to determine the statutory funding levels, contribution requirements, and net periodic benefit costs of these plans, and ensure compliance with government regulations and financial accounting standards. Support new team members during onboarding by sharing technical and client specific knowledge. Participate in Total Rewards practice development initiatives. Work on expense projections, budget forecasts, and assumption selection for annual valuations. Review assumptions in accounting valuations and ensure that valuations are reasonable and compliant with Actuarial Standards of Practice (ASOPs). Perform actuarial valuations to determine the minimum and maximum required contributions for qualified pension plans under the Pension Protection Act of 2006 (PPA) funding rules. Calculate net periodic pension cost and net periodic post-retirement benefit cost under ASC 715 and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Execute valuation programming using data visualization tools to prepare data and calculate liabilities of qualified pension plans and post-retirement medical plans, and prepare accounting reports under ASC 715 and International Accounting Standards (IAS) 19(R) and funding reports under PPA. Assist clients with preparing and filing government forms using My Plan Administration Account (myPAA) and Relius to ensure compliance with Pension Benefit Guaranty Corp (PBGC). Review benefit calculations for benefit splits from QDROs to ensure accuracy. Perform actuarial valuations in accordance with IRS regulations, Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB), and Accounting Standards Codification (ASC) Nos. 715-30, 715-60, and 960.
