As a result, Deloitte Tax is expanding its Strategic Tax Application Center (STAC). STAC focused on developing new service offerings and technology solutions that assist us in delivering tax services to our clients. This is an ideal opportunity to be part of a cutting-edge and innovative start-up environment within the larger Deloitte Tax organization. Job OverviewAs part of Deloitte Tax, the Strategic Tax Application Center (STAC) is building the next generation tax platform and suite of tax modules for our tax practitioners and clients. There is a growing demand from our customers and therefore, within our tax platform for greater levels of functionality and scalability around data management, analytics, and reporting. We need to establish a strategy and long-term plan for rationalizing these needs into a unified, manageable, and scalable technology platform set of services for modules to address the volume, velocity, variety, and variability of their data. We believe that our platform ability to effectively harness this data will be a key differentiator for our business in the future. We are looking to expand our architecture team to include a senior architect who is very experienced in designing highly scalable, distributed Big Data systems. This individual be instrumental in defining the end-to-end data strategy and architecture for the Tax Integrated Platform and will engage with other architects, product owners, analysts, QA, and delivery teams to realize the vision. What you ll doAs a Manager, you will be responsible for assessing the current state data landscape, formulating a future vision and roadmap aligned to a blend of best practices and current environmental factors, and help champion the vision and roadmap with key business and IT stakeholders. This is a highly-visible opportunity to leverage your significant architecture, analytics, and data expertise to create the underlying data platform for the tax integrated platform, and to set in motion a strategy which will help drive the next wave of intelligence-driven tax applications. Responsibilities will include:Work as part of the STAC architecture team providing support to module teams as needed, including general architectural reviews and guidance.Work with STAC product owners and other key stakeholders to analyze, understand, and document BI/Data storage and reporting requirements.Represent STAC BI/Data SME expertise to internal and external groups.Understand and document current state environment and existing solutions as well as considering current Deloitte Tax technology options for future solution envisioning.Define and document future state strategy and high-level solution roadmap, including but not limited to:Defining an approach for the end-to-end process with respect to data ingestion/extraction, transformation, staging/preparation, analysis/reporting, and archival.High-level roadmap for buildout/rollout of solution using a phased approach.Target architecture solution for BI/Data Analytics for the Tax Integrated Platform, emphasizing the immediate phase needs while remaining in-line with the longer-term approach.Recommend options for ingesting data from current operational transactional stores and flat files; and for integration/migration of existing products.Comparison analysis of potential technology solution options, pros & cons, and high-level cost estimate of initial infrastructure rollout, integration with modules and ongoing maintenance.Architecture considerations for on-premise, hybrid, and native cloud.Presenting strategy and technology roadmaps to executive stakeholders.Identification of any spikes/POCs to be planned to manage risk and to validate technology options & approach as necessary.Providing technical leadership for data platform technologies and solutions, once rolled out into production.Create design deliverables that are consistent with STAC architectural principles, standards, and industry best practices.Performing applied research and development and prototyping activities, either directly or in an oversight capacity.Providing support/guidance to the development teams during the analysis, development, and testing processes.Communicating implications of design decisions, technology costs, benefits, and implementation requirements to business and IT Leadership.Providing input to the development of project initiation documents including objectives, scope, approach, estimates, and deliverables, when needed.Working closely with our DevOps teams to define the deployment architecture.Participating and technically leading, when needed, production troubleshooting and War Room Activities.Staying abreast of industry changes related to BI, analytics, and big data, including but not limited to cloud offerings (e.g. AWS and Azure).Instilling a culture of operational excellence and accountability with respect to architecture, designs and implementation.Seeking and capitalizing on the opportunities to improve productivity, improving time-to-market, improving solutions quality, and improving cost effectiveness.Anticipating barriers to change and creating opportunities to remove them.Creating a culture that is based on knowledge sharing and learning from best practices.Exhibiting high level of professional flexibility and volunteering innovation and new ideas.Mentoring technical leads and developers.Presenting on key technology topics to fellow STAC members during key events.
