Work you ll doWe are looking to add a Data Scientist to our team who will take part in building the next generation of Insight Studio solutions and prototypes using advanced analytics and statistical modeling techniques. As a data scientist within our team you will have the opportunity to solve challenging problems across a broad range of industry domains. You'll apply advanced analytics techniques and algorithms, wrangle and large volumes of client and external data, visualize your analysis results, and partner with UX/UI designers to implement your ideas in real-world solution and tangibly validate your introduced improvements. Strategy & Operations AnalyticsThe Insight Studio was established with the mission to help clients discover and pursue valuable opportunities using leading analytics and visualization technologies by co-creating rapid prototypes and facilitating actionable insights. Minimum Qualifications Advanced degree (MA/PhD) in quantitative discipline: Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, Comp. Science, Engineering, etc.4 years experience with large amounts of real dataMinimum of 2 years experience leading project teams on relevant engagementsExperience in Hadoop, Spark, Storm or related paradigms and associated languages such as Pig, Hive, Mahout, plus advanced skills in Java/C , R, Python, etc.Ability to communicate complex quantitative analysis in a concise and actionable mannerProficient in manipulating and analyzing complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources. Ideally some of this data would come from embedded sensors, for use in applications such as predictive maintenance.Extensive knowledge of tools for data mining and statistics (SAS, SPSS, MATLAB)Ability to work independently and manage multiple task assignmentsStrong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills (MS Visio, MS PowerPoint)Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgmentWillingness to travel at least 50%Ideal qualifications for the job:Strong competency in various machine learning techniques (supervised learning, unsupervised learning, reinforcement learning).
